Vienna had long been on my bucket list, and let me tell you—it did not disappoint! This beautiful European city has it all: stunning lights, vibrant vibes, amazing places to eat, and delicious food at every turn.

Weather in Vienna
I visited in August, and while it was warm, it was absolutely pleasant. The sunshine added to the beauty of the city, making it perfect for exploring.

What to Eat in Vienna
Vienna is a food lover's paradise. Here are some must-try dishes when you visit is Schnitzel A fried veal cutlet served with a tasty potato salad. You just can’t leave Vienna without trying it! and also Tafelspitz A traditional boiled beef dish that’s packed with flavor.

And for those with a sweet tooth, Vienna’s desserts are a dream come true:

  • Buchteln – Soft buns filled with jam.

  • Kaiserschmarrn – Like a fluffy, shredded pancake often served with fruit or blueberry sauce.

  • Scheiterhaufen – A warm apple bread pudding.

  • Sachertorte – A rich chocolate cake, iconic in Vienna.

  • Krapfen – Austrian-style doughnuts.

  • Apfelstrudel – The famous apple strudel, filled with apples and spices.

  • Mohr im Hemd – A chocolate pudding served with whipped cream.

  • Mozartkugel – Delicious chocolate pralines, inspired by Mozart.

  • Pyramidal soufflé – Originally from Salzburg, but a must-try in Vienna too!

Exploring Vienna Make sure to visit some of Vienna’s iconic landmarks. Start with Volksgarten Park, a beautiful public park perfect for a relaxing stroll. Then, marvel at the Belvedere Palace, a masterpiece of Baroque architecture. For art enthusiasts, the Vienna State Opera is a must-see, offering world-class performances. Finally, don’t miss the majestic St. Stephen's Cathedral, a historic gem that showcases stunning Gothic architecture.

Where to Eat in Vienna
Vienna is a city well known for its incredible food offerings, especially when it comes to brunch and breakfast. Be sure to explore some of the local cafés and bakeries, as the city is also famous for its world-class pastry techniques, and trust me, you’ll want to try everything! Vienna is also renowned for its rich chocolate and artisanal cheeses, thanks to its proximity to Switzerland, which brings an excellent selection of Swiss chocolates. Further down, I’ll be sharing all the places where I recommend eating.
